	Installing the Microsoft NetShow Services If you have successfully installed SHOUTcast, and attempt to load the SHOUTcast plugin via making it highlighted in the DPS/Effects located in the Preferences window and receive an error stating that there is no CODEC installed, you should go verify this. Press Start, then click on Settings, and Control Panel. In the Control Panel, find the Multimedia icon and double click it. After you double click it, an applet will open where you would then click on the last tab, called "Devices." Now expand the Audio Compression Codecs tree located near the bottom and check to see if Fraunhoffer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec is installed. If not, then you will need to download the NetShow Services made available free, from Microsoft Once the download is complete, simply double click on the nstools.exe, follow the onscreen instructions and restart your computer upon setup completion.
