SHOUTcast: DSP Plugin for Winamp
Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source Plug-in for Winamp (also known as the DSP Plug-in) is a Winamp DSP plug-in that enables Winamp to interface with the SHOUTcast Server software. This plug-in is available only on the x86/Win32 platform, and runs under any version of Windows 95, 98, NT, or Windows 2000 (Intel Platform). The SHOUTcast server, unlike the interface plug-in, is far less platform dependent and has builds for many operating systems. To communicate with any of those Servers, regardless of platform, you need three things: Nullsoft Winamp, The SHOUTcast Source Plug-in for Winamp, and an MP3 codec for Windows.
Once you have found a download location for the SHOUTcast DSP plugin, right click on the link, and click on "Save Link As" in Netscape Navigator, or "Save Target As" in Microsoft Internet Explorer

Once you click on the appropriate menu selection in your respective browser, it will display a dialog box similar to this:
We recommend you save the file with its original file name as well as make sure to save it on your Windows Desktop in order to locate the file easier. Once the file download is complete, minimize your web browser and find your way to the downloaded zip file. We recommend extracting the .zip file with Winzip.
If the file has an icon that is similar to this,
then you already have a copy of Winzip installed. If you see this icon,
then you should go to http://www.winzip.com and download the latest evaluation version of Winzip in order to extract it. Please be sure to remember that Winzip is trialware and that if you be sure to register it in order to support the authors. ;)
Once you have Winzip installed, and if you see the icon as in Figure 2.4, just double click on the file's icon. After you do that, a window should open would look like the following:
What you need to do now is to click on the Extract button located on the toolbar located at the top of the window, or click on the "Actions" menu, the click the cursor on "Extract"
After clicking on the Extract, it will display a dialog box that should look like the one located above. What you would now have to do is locate the folder in which Winamp is stored and make sure that you double click on the "Plugins" subfolder located immediately below the Winamp main folder. Now simply press the "Extract" button.
Once the files are extracted, start Winamp, then click the mouse cursor on the Control button located on the upper left hand corner of the Winamp window, then navigate through the menu to the Preferences option located under the Options submenu.
In the Preferences window, please click on the DSP/Effect subcategory under the Plug-Ins tree. If you see the SHOUTcast Source for Winamp [dsp_sc.dll] written in the right pane, then you have successfully installed the plug-in.
NOTE: If Winamp was started prior to installation, you will need to turn off Winamp completely, then restart it in order for Winamp to load the necessary files.
